Welcome to Who Are You? (The Way Children and Teen Outreach)

At Who Are You?, we are dedicated to empowering children and teens facing adversity in Albuquerque, particularly in the International District. As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to provide vital mentoring services that address the challenges our youth encounter, including the impact of gun violence on their communities and families.

Our programs are designed to teach young individuals not only about the effects of violence but also about essential life skills such as conflict resolution. We create an environment that fosters individuality, creativity, and self-expression, allowing children to explore their passions in a safe and supportive space.

We offer hands-on activities, including T-shirt design through screen printing and DTF vinyl pressing. We are excited to expand our curriculum to include 3D printing and various summer camps, such as design classes and basketball camps. Our goal is to provide engaging activities that keep our teens occupied and inspired, steering them away from negative influences.

As someone who has personally faced challenges as a troubled youth and a young single father, I understand the importance of mentorship and guidance. I did not have access to the resources and support that I needed, and it is my passion to ensure that our children have a safe space to turn to for help and direction. We are committed to making a change in our community by empowering our youth to embrace their uniqueness and strive to become well-rounded citizens.

In addition to our mentoring services, we are working towards establishing multiple safe havens for youth, including a potential center near the Walmart on Zuni and Central. This space will be dedicated to providing support for displaced or homeless children, giving them a place to find mentorship and guidance as they navigate life's challenges.

At Who Are You?, we believe in breaking the negative stigmas that society places on our youth. We strive to show them that it's okay to be different, that they can choose paths of integrity and creativity rather than succumbing to the pressures of fitting in. We are here to uplift and inspire our young people, helping them to realize their potential and make positive contributions to our community.
